Mariah became part of the CPC Lawyers team in 2019 as a Law Clerk. She finished her Bachelor of Laws at the University of Adelaide in December 2020 and was officially admitted to the Supreme Court of South Australia in June 2021. Now, Mariah serves as a full-time associate solicitor at the firm, collaborating closely with Theodosi in various legal domains such as Commercial Law, Property Law, Wills and Estate Planning, Estate Administration, and Family Law.
Growing up with close family members in the legal profession,
I was introduced to the world of law at a young age, sparking my interest early on. Their influence played a significant role in motivating me to pursue a career in law. Today, as a practitioner myself, I am deeply grateful for their ongoing support and the opportunity to exchange ideas with them.
Outside of work, you'll often find me exploring new eateries with my partner, family, or friends, or hitting the gym, followed by a well-deserved coffee treat. A lesser-known fact about me is that I've recently embraced the role of aunt, and I cherish every moment spent with my with my new lil mini-me!
When people face the prospect of engaging a lawyer, it can be daunting, especially if they've never navigated legal matters before. My goal is to make a positive impact on the lives of individuals in such situations—guiding them, ensuring they understand their rights, and providing support through the legal process.
For those considering a career in law?
My advice is to embrace versatility. Legal issues often intersect across various practice areas, and being well-versed in multiple fields allows you to offer comprehensive advice to your clients. Building trust with clients is paramount. Recognise that they're often entrusting you with significant aspects of their lives, whether it's family matters, business affairs, or property concerns. By delivering clear, understandable advice in a reassuring manner, you can establish a strong foundation of trust and support during challenging times.
If you could choose a superpower, what would it be?
Teleportation - love to travel but I’m a horrible flyer so if I could be half way around the world in seconds that would be ideal.
